4 Things Friday | Style Maniac's Summer Faves in Philadelphia

Four Things making me smile in my hometown of Philadelphia this summer Friday:

1. Peter Max's city-specific, bursting-with-color covers for Niche Media Magazines. I especially love his groovy take on the City of Brotherly Love.  See more at nichemediallc.com

2. Catherine Canino's Blue Ribbon Turquoise necklace.   Bold and earthy, with subtle equestrian details, this line of handmade jewelry at good prices can be found at Scarlett Alley boutique in Old City.

3. The incroyable Happy Hour at Bistrot La Minette in Queen Village. Whether inside at the miniscule bar or under the yellow umbrellas on the front patio, the summer specials from 5 to 7:30 pm are an incredible steal -- $2 beers, $3 wines, $5 drinks, half priced appetizers -- with no skimping on the polished service and exceptional food that makes this classic French bistro a Philly, and Style Maniac, fave.  (Read more about Bistrot La Minette and chef/owner Peter Woolsey's cooking secrets in my Chef Secrets for Home Cooks  series.)

4.  Spruce Street Harbor Pop-Up Park, a delightful, whimsical mix of floating beer gardens, swinging hammocks, oversize chess games, shipping containers turned into food kiosks, and happy, laughing people along the banks of the Delaware River.  Through August 31st, 2014.
