Summer Snapshots

At the age of five my grandmother Lydia crossed the ocean from Genoa, Italy to begin a new life.  Her first glimpse of America: the Statue of Liberty. Someday soon I'll tell you more of her tale.  For now I'll just say Happy Birthday, U.S.A.

Since I'll be taking some vacation time in July -- and I'm sure many of you will as well -- this month on Style Maniac you'll find a series of mostly short posts that capture summer in a snapshot, image or quote.  If you have a wonderful summer photo or story, please share it with us in the Comments below or on the

Style Maniac Facebook page.
