has been mad about books, besotted by design and crazy about style her entire life.
AS A GIRL,
MOST OFTEN BE FOUND
REARRANGING HER ROOM,
READING UNDER THE COVERS
& SEARCHING FOR THAT
OF PARTY SHOES.
It's not surprising she went on to work as an interior decorator (and star on HGTV), write for magazines and corporations, teach party planning classes, champion literacy causes and consult for fashion brands.
In 2009 Doreen began Style Maniac to share her passion about living life with beauty and joy. Her philosophy: use the good china for breakfast, wear cocktail rings at lunch, eat by candlelight on Tuesday night, read books voraciously, laugh loudly, love passionately, learn always, and live with zest, originality and style every day.
Doreen can also be found writing about style for lifestyle and travel magazines, consulting for emerging fashion brands and bringing TV/video/film scripts to life through set decoration and production design. In her volunteer work she has been an adult literacy tutor, director of turoring programs for at-risk youth and co-founder of three organizations supporting businesswomen and bloggers.
In recognition of both her personal style and community involvement, Doreen was honored as one of the
XIX Most Fashionable Women in Philadelphia,
an award recognizing fashion, philanthropy and support of her city.
Currently Doreen is producing the fashion documentary Cheesesteak Chic: How Philadelphia Influenced American Fashion, a project that brings together three of her all time loves: Fashion, Film and Philadelphia; and features some of the most famous designers, coveted brands and influential icons of our time.
It is Doreen's great joy to hear from readers that Style Maniac has inspired them to live life with style and joy. She'd love to hear from you, either to just say hello, or to discuss a collaboration.
