Secrets from Design Legend Anthony Baratta for Creating a Bold & Happy Home

While putting together the "Go For The Bold" post last month, I emailed Anthony Baratta for permission to use his images.  His team was so kind with their reply, I asked if Mr. Baratta would share a few of his decorating secrets with Style Maniac readers.  Read on for tips from this design legend on inexpensive ways to refresh your decor, how to be daring in decorating and the key elements to creating a happy home.

STYLE MANIAC:  What's your trick for giving a room a quick and not too expensive refresh?
ANTHONY BARATTA: We get these requests from time to time from long-time clients who love what we do. Our look is forever, so no need for complete makeovers, but by swapping out new rugs and pillows you can completely change the vibe of a room.  I do this in my own home for seasonal updates, fun to go from rich red and marine blue to sunny yellow and cornflower- instant spring!

How do you encourage clients to go for the bold?
Well, once they see my work it’s not a tough sell. I have never been accused of being a subtle designer. At this point in my career clients come to me for bold, exuberant, sporty-chic design. Hard to be in a bad mood in one of these rooms.

What personally brings you joy in a home?
Color, art, light is so important.
If you follow my Instagram (and 15K people do!) I often share my own residences and they all have one common thread no matter what the style. They’re happy!
