Many of you have asked about updates on OR DIE TYRING, the new indie series I'm working on as Wardrobe Consultant. With the Oscars this evening I thought it would be fun to share a peek behind the scenes of this drama about four millennial women giving their all to make it in Hollywood.
Come take a look on set through the lens of photographer Caroline J. Phillips.
As Wardrobe Consultant, my role was to seek out clothing and accessory lines that help bring to life four very different characters. In addition, I sought out companies whose founders are giving their all to build their brands and make their own dreams come true. Most of these young brands are female-owned, in line with OR DIE TRYING's underlying mission of cracking that work ceiling -- whether it be glass or celluloid.
OR DIE TRYING's first season of 8 approximately nine-minute episodes was shot in Los Angeles last fall. The project is now in post-production, with another amazing partner, Hot Pixel Inc., whose credits include a little movie you may have heard of -- Star Wars: Rogue One.
Next step: pitching to distributors, to determine where OR DIE TRYING will be broadcast. (As part of a successful Seed & Spark crowdfunding campaign, the project is guaranteed distribution, but the producers are also exploring additional options.)
Stay tuned for more updates as this post-production phase unfolds.
Oh! and if you happen to be surfing the movie website IMDb, look for me. A fun and unexpected moment that arose from working on this project is that I now have my own listing on IMDb. After years of referencing this site for all things Hollywood, it's a kick to be featured on it!
Hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes peek! Look for exclusive offers from OR DIE TRYING wardrobe brands plus a new trailer and video clips from Season 1 in upcoming posts on Style Maniac.
