A Style Maniac post has a starring role in Shakespeare's Twelfth Night!

How delighted was I when The Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre's artistic/executive director Carmen Khan wrote to tell me of this blog to bard connection, especially with a play that includes one of my favorite lines.  "My set designer used your site for inspiration in designing ... our Shakespeare productions this year," Khan explained via email. "The photo of the girl with the umbrella at the beach was inspiring for Twelfth Night."

As shown in the poster at left, the production design and promotional graphics merge elements of Magritte's paintings, the loneliness of an ocean vista and a photograph from my post “By the Boardwalk," part of my series The Sandcastle Project: Dreaming of Creating an Escape by the Sea.

"If music be the food of love, play on " ... or should I say "blog on"?!

Twelfth Night runs through May 20.  For tickets to the show and more info visit PhiladelphiaShakespeare.org
